Sunday 5/31 Nigh****ch Assistant
Good evening everyone!
I hope everyone has had a good day and a restful weekend. 'm home watching the Red Wings game - again. I can't believe they had Game 1 and Game 2 on back to back nights. Last night's game was a great win! And the Red Wings are leading tonight, too.
We spent most of the weekend painting our living room and formal dining room. The painting is done. I have to finish putting the switchplate covers on and then I'll try to get the furniture put back into place on my own. (Michael's leaving for Atlanta on the 6am flight tomorrow and won't be home until Friday at 5pm.) We also got the ceiling in the hallway from the garage into the living room done. It's taped, so I'm going to try to get the walls done on my own this week.
Today was our 12th wedding anniversary. Spending the day painting and eating Church's chicken for dinner was quite the contrast from last year's weekend at the Four Seasons in Las Colinas, party with friends on Friday night and dinner at Cool River on Saturday. I'm trying to not get caught up in how uncertain everything is right now and just enjoy the moment. We're getting things done. We're together. But it's really hard. I miss my old life. :(
I'll be around for a while, but not super late tonight as I've got to get Michael to the airport early. The rest of the week while he's traveling, I'll be up late every night. Promise. :)
Following are tonight's prayer requests. Please send me any updates so I can give them to George when he returns later this week.
Prayers for all who need them. :)
Prayer requests are listed below.
I do ask that you keep me updated on requests. Often. Please.
Also, please feel free to just visit here. Tell us about how your day went. Your successes. Your failures. Your fun. Whatever. When I post this thread, I do not have access to any chat programs, so this sometimes substitute as that vessel for me.
Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers for the members of our Armed Forces serving around the world, especially during this time of increased awareness. Please thank God for these men and women every day. In addition, please keep the wives and family members in your thoughts.

Those who are not yet unemployed, but layoffs are looming
Anne -(Lalocaweta) - Please pray for her as she undergoes treatment for a medical problem she is facing.
Cindy Mc - a coworker has a 5 yr old son who was diagnosed at 3 with Metastatic Retinoblastoma. He lost his right eye, but through chemo and radiation it was thought the cancer was gone. It is back and spreading in his brain. There is no cure and they are treating him with some oral Chemo medication right now. I am just asking that you pray for Isaac Xavuer Vasques-Grimmett. He is a precious little boy who has been through a whole lot of difficult times in his 5 short years. We are praying for a miracle but if we can't get that... For God's mercy and grace to keep this precious little boy and his family from suffering too much. Update: Isaac did not qualify for the program they were attempting to go to at St Jude's. Please continiue prayers.
Dana - requests prayer for her sister, Renee. She had tumor on her jaw removed. Now needs jaw reconstruction on 7/23 - (10 hour surgery scheduled).
Debra - has been put on no work by doctor due to memory loss that is related to recent hospitalization. Also, with the no work comes less pay. Prayers for the financial side of the situation.
Gina J. - Pray for her 6 year old Marina, diagnosed with a terminal illness at age 2. She has improved, but still needs our prayers. Pray for this brave little girl.
Janet (1divaatheart) says her husband's tumor is shrinking (Praise God!). Pray for her family as they deal with the passing of her father (5/17).
Karen (Misty750342002) - A friend of Karen's from work (who is like a son to her), Dustin Murphy, is 24 years old and has been diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease.
Prplecat asks prayer for her health battles as well as the family's move to Wichita Falls.
Vicki V. - husband Patrick continues to have health problems. Update on Patrick. His most recent diagnosis from the neurologist is Ataxia and Neuropathy of the left side. Which basically means he has virtually no feeling in his left leg and foot - probably the results of both a broken femur (more than 30 years ago) and his more recent heart and lung surgeries and the bed confinement from all of those.
Vanessa (Butterfly Reborn) - requests prayer for her family. There were no specifics, but I am sure the Lord knows.
Vanessa - We have all followed the story of Elizabeth. Here is her Caringbridge page:

Morning all,
Julie, thanks for keeping the post going while George is out on vacation. (I hope he is having a great time.) Happy anniversary to you and Michael, I'm sure that is not how you wanted to spend your anniversary, painting and eating Church's chicken, but I am hoping you had a great day just being together. I'm right there with you on the uncertainty of things, we just have to have faith that things will turn out the way they are meant to turn out. I know it's hard, but you have each other to lean on.
Prayers for the spoken and unspoken requests. Speacial healing prayers for Debra, Nina, Lynette, Anette, and our sweet Elizabeth Grace, and all of those that have had surgery or who are about to have surgery. Special prayers for those in need tonight for what ever reason. Special prayers tonight for my friend Lori and her family, they placed her father in hospice this last week. May the Lord's will be done in his life, and may his discomfort be minimal. Blessings to all.

Hey Jen... (aka CD "Julie")
It's 2 am but I just finished getting the girls' lunches done and the kitchen cleaned up as well as the living room picked up. I've had laundry going since about 7:00 with about two loads left to start. As soon as the dryer is done, I'll put what's in the washer in there and start the second to last load in the washer then finish those last two up in the morning. Gotta hit the gym for that 9 am class, too....the "treadmill torture" class!
Sooo, how bout' them Wings?!? Geez, lots of pile ups there in the net tonight! That one shot off the post was soooo close but bounced out. I had to get up to deal with something Sarah needed help with so didn't get to see the outcome - did the light go off to score the goal or not? Paul and I used to go to the LA Kings games when we lived out there. OMG, I can remember the first game we went to - Paul got us horrible nosebleed seats which normally one could handle...but I was about 7 months pregnant and man oh man, the snide comments the poor guy had to hear from everyone was too funny! Everyone gave him so much crap for getting horribly high seats for me to have to climb stairs being prego as I was! Just had to contain myself and no jumpin' up too much to encourage the ol' one-two punches!!! Those were the Wayne Gretzky days.
Safe travels for Michael and some good luck to roll your way on the job front as well as anyone else looking for work.
